Whether you need a routine check-up or feel that it’s time for a comprehensive overhaul, we have the technology to provide complete care for all ages. Our new patient exam will give us an opportunity to get to know you, find out your goals for your oral health are long-term, and evaluate your current status.

As part of our new patient exams we often will take a set of digital x-rays to evaluate your bone and your teeth to look for any areas of concern and specifically cavities, bone loss, or infection. We will also check the height of the gums support around the teeth to identify any areas that may have deeper pockets that might be challenging to clean. If you are missing any teeth or have decay starting around any of your teeth or if you have excessive wear or crooked teeth, we will suggest options to help improve the longevity of your teeth and improve your smile.

Our office offers basic teeth cleaning for routine care. If a patient is a smoker, has diabetes, drinks a lot of coffee or is on certain medications, we may suggest more frequent cleanings or even a “deep cleaning” if there is calculus built up on the teeth that makes a situation that is difficult to reach with a toothbrush. The deep cleaning is also called a scaling and root planing. This procedure often requires the mouth to be numbed so we can dig deeper under the gums to remove the trapped food particles that have hardened onto the roots of the teeth and don’t come off with brushing or flossing.
