WHAT IS A PORCELAIN VENEER?

They can be uses to close gaps between teeth, especially when orthodontics can’t achieve enough closure due to lack of space. HOW DOES A VENEER DIFFER FROM A CROWN?

A crown typically will cover the entire outer surface of the tooth, whereas the veneer is generally only put on the facial surface of a tooth, conserving the back side. In rare cases, we might do a veneer on the back of the tooth, but that might be if we needed to change the bite or open the vertical dimension of your teeth. The procedure is typically very similar, although the amount of tooth reduction is significantly less on a veneer than for a crown.
